(A Monson family favorite.)
Ingredients:
-One cube of butter or margarine
-8 oz. cream cheese
-1 or 2 cans Cream of Chicken soup
-1/2 soup can water
-1 package Good Seasons Italian Dressing mix (use half if you prefer less garlic)
-3 or 4 chicken breasts
Directions:
Place margarine in crock pot (turn on high to melt), add chicken and 1/2 of seasoning packet. Cook on high until chicken is no longer pink (about 2 hours). Remove chicken and cut into pieces. Reduce crock pot heat to low. Add soup, water, cream cheese, and the remainder of seasoning packet. Whisk ingredients together, add chicken again. Let cook for 1-2 more hours on low heat. Turn off crockpot and let sauce thicken for a few minutes. Serve over favorite noodles.
*Note: My mom makes this on the stovetop, and it also works well.
